Waste2Worth
Sustainability
Our journey began with making bricks from fabric offcuts. We have since expanded into a wider range of creations, including tables, cutlery, installations, and decorative wall panels. We envision Fabata as a sustainable waste solution for garment factories across Bali, with the long-term goal of expanding our impact throughout Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
Community
Fabata is also about people. Inspired by Indra’s personal journey – having once lived in an orphanage with his mother – we work closely with local children’s homes to give back and create opportunities. Our first major project, completed in July 2025, transformed an unused space at Jewel Children’s Home in East Bali into a vibrant multipurpose room. Together with the children, we created a mural from Fabata bricks, renovated flooring and tiling, replaced doors, donated sewing machines, and ran workshops teaching upcycling and sewing. We capped it off with a trip to the beach, celebrating creativity, community, and care.
Opportunity
We believe in second chances and building pathways forward. Nearly half of our team is made up of reformed ex-convicts, and we aim to continue offering meaningful work opportunities for individuals often excluded from the workforce. Looking ahead, Fabata hopes to grow into a pipeline for underserved children, supporting their transition into the professional world.
